Sync Audio And Video With Roxio

Roxio is a line of media creation applications that is supported by Windows operating systems. If the media produced in Roxio develops audio and video synchronicity issues, the software developer recommends users to enable the DMA on the hard drive. An acronym for direct memory access, this feature permits the hard drive (and external storage devices) to circumvent the microprocessor and access memory directly. Since the video editing process can be demanding on the microprocessor, DMA activation can enhance software performance. PC users can enable and disable the DMA is just a few clicks.

1. Go to the Windows “Start” menu and select the “Control Panel.”

2. Double-click the “System” icon. Select the “Device Manger” option from the “Tasks” menu.

3. Open the “IDE ATA/ATAPI controllers” item. Double-click the Primary IDE Channel (may appear as ATA Channel 0). A programming screen will load.

4. Click the “Advanced Settings” tab. Go to the “Device Properties” section and check the “Enable DMA” box. Click “OK” and the feature will be activated.
