South Jersey Colleges With Video Game Design

Video game designers are responsible for creating the graphics for video and computer game plots, characters and settings. For individuals interested in pursuing a career as a video game designer in southern New Jersey, Atlantic Cape Community College, Brookdale Community College and Camden County College all offer video game design programs.

Atlantic Cape Community College

Atlantic Cape Community College is located in Mays Landing, New Jersey. At ACCC, students can enroll in the Associate in Liberal Arts program and specialize in Digital Design. This two-year program is 66 credits and is comprised of both general studies and digital arts courses. The program is designed to allow students to transfer to a four year school to major in digital arts or computer design, but students can seek employment in video game design following the completion of the program. Financial aid is available to students who qualify.

Brookdale Community College

Brookdale Community College is located in Lincroft, New Jersey. BCC offers a two-year, 65-credit Digital Animation and 3D Design degree program for students interested in a career in digital design. This program teaches students develop modeling, editing and storyboard skills. There is also a 60-credit game programming option available for students who are more interested in game programming versus game design. Students can apply for financial assistance.

Camden County College

Camden County College is located in Blackwood, New Jersey. Students at CCC can enroll in a two-year, 66-credit Game Design and Development program. Students who graduate from the program earn an Associate Degree in Applied Science. Courses in the program include programming fundamentals, digital storytelling, animation, digital illustration, special effects, game design and graphic design, among others. Possible employment opportunities include video game designing, game-play testing ,3-D character or object building, and conceptual artistry. Tuition assistance is available to those who qualify.
