Save Files With Virtualdub Mod

Edit and save videos like a professional with VirtualDubMod.

VirtualDubMod is free open-source software that allows users to edit video files encoded in many formats and output them in Audio Visual Interleaves format. When you’ve finished editing and processing a video file in VirtualDubMod, you’ll need to save it on your computer. Once saved, you can watch the video on your computer’s media player, or share it with friends via email or by uploading it to an online video file sharing site. To save a video file in VirtualDubMod, access your preferred save option from the program’s “File” menu.

Instructions

1. Launch VirtualDubMod.

2. Open the video file that you want to edit and save in AVI format. Use VirtualDubMod’s video processing and editing tools to improve the quality of the video, trim the video or add special and processing effects. When you’ve finished editing the video, you can choose one of three save options.

3. Click “File” in the main program menu.

4. Select “Save as AVI” from the drop-down menu. This saves the video file in a compressed AVI format that reduces the file size of the video but maintains the resolution and quality of the video. Use this option if you don’t need to edit the video again.

5. Select “Save as Old Format AVI” from the drop-down menu. This saves the video file in an uncompressed AVI format, so the file size will be much larger than with the “Save as AVI” format. Choose this option if you think you’ll need to edit the video again.

6. Select “Save Segmented AVI” from the drop-down menu. This splits an AVI file into different parts and saves each section as a separate AVI file. Use this option if you want to upload a lengthy video clip to an online video file sharing site that restricts the duration of uploaded video clips.

7. Type a name for the video file in the “Name” input field, choose a save location on your computer, then click the “OK” button. Wait for VirtualDubMod to encode and compress the video file. This can take several minutes if you’ve added processing or special effects to the video file.
