Pinnacle Studio 10 Requirements

Pinnacle Studio 10 allows users to burn their movies onto DVD.

Pinnacle Studio 10 is a video editing program for the PC. Released in 2005, the software is geared toward the average consumer. Requirements for the program are based on typical specifications from that year, with many recent computers easily able to comply. Plus and Ultimate versions of the software are also available for purchase.

System Requirements

Pinnacle Studio 10 requires at least a Windows XP operating system. Updates are available for future versions of Windows. Other requirements include a Intel Pentium or AMD Athlon processor with 1.4 GHz or higher. As well, a DVD-ROM drive is needed. The program requires at least 512 MB of RAM. One gigabyte of space is recommended with three more suggested for bonus material. A Direct X 9.0 graphics card with 32 MB or better is needed to run the program. A Direct X 9.0 sound card or better is required for audio.

Capture and Output Requirements

The following analog camcorder formats can be captured using a DirectShow or compatible graphic board or television tuner board: 8 MM, HI 8, VHS, VHS-C, SHVS, SHVS-C or VCRs. An analog input, Composite or S-Video, is required to complete this task. DV camcorders, Digital8 camcorders and VCRs can also be used with the corresponding ports on your computer. Users can output video onto DV or Digital8 tape, as well as analog videotape with the corresponding equipment.

Import and Export Requirements

Pinnacle 10 can import video formats DV, DivX, AVI MPEG-1, MPEG-2, MPEG-4, Windows Media files and non-encrypted DVD. DivX, MPEG-4 and DVD require an additional codec pack. MPEG-2 importing requires the activation of the software. Both WAV files and MP3 files can be imported for audio. As well, graphic formats available for importing include BMP, JPG, PCT, TGA, TIF and WMF. S-VCD, DVD and MPEG-2 exporting require activation of the software. Dolby Digital Audio 2 Channel, DivX and MPEG-4 exporting requires an additional codec pack. DV, AVI, RealVideo 8, Windows Media 9, VCD and MPEG-1 exporting can be done without any additional tasks.
