Open a Video File in Pinnacle

Pinnacle is a video editing program for PC and Mac that allows consumers to upload videos that they record with their camcorders or import video files already on their computer and edit them into a more polished finished product. Pinnacle is able to work with a variety of different video file formats. If you have Pinnacle installed on your computer then importing one of these files and opening it in the Pinnacle software is relatively easy to do and will only take a few minutes.

1. Put Pinnacle into edit mode. The software will typically open in edit mode automatically when it is launched. If you’re not already there, to get to edit mode simply click the tab at the top of the screen labeled “Edit.”

2. Select the icon on the screen that is represented by a picture of a video camera to let the program know you are trying to import new video.

3. Click the “Browse for File” button on the screen that is represented by a picture of a file folder.

4. Browse your computer to find the file you are interested in opening.

5. Click “Open” and wait for the file to import into Pinnacle. Depending on the size of the file and speed of your computer this could take anywhere from a few seconds to an hour or more.
