Make The Background Of An Image Black In Lightroom

Use Lightroom to change the background color of an image.

Adobe Lightroom is part of the Adobe Creative Suite software package for Windows and Mac-based systems, and is intended as an accessory to the Adobe Photoshop application. Within Lightroom, you can import images from a digital camera or other source and customize them with different effects before transferring them into a Photoshop file. For example, you can use Lightroom to add a background color to an image and set it to black.

1. Launch the Adobe Lightroom application.

2. Open the “File” menu at the top of the window and choose the “Import Photos” command.

3. Highlight the image file you want to edit and click the “Import” button.

4. Scroll down to the “Backdrop” panel on the right side of the screen.

5. Check the box next to “Background Color.”

6. Click on the palette icon to the right of the “Background Color” check box and select the shade of black you want to use.

7. Go to the “Metadata” menu and select the “Save Metadata To File(s)” option to save the changes to the image file.
