Insert An Animated Gif Into Movie Maker

Microsoft Windows Live Movies Makers lets even beginners create high-quality videos in a matter of minutes. With Movie Maker, you can import your favorite animations, images and video clips; tie them together and add music. Movie Maker supports most major image types such as GIF, JPEG and PNG and allows the use of animated GIF images. In Movie Maker, working with animated images is no harder than using static images but you must adjust duration settings to ensure that animated GIFs display correctly in your movies.

1. Click “Start,” “All Programs,” then “Windows Live Movie Maker.”

2. Click “Add videos and photos” at the top of the Movie Maker program window. Browse the folders or photo library on your computer to an animated GIF image you want to insert the movie. Click the animated GIF file to select it, then click the “Open” button.

3. Click the “Video Tools” tab. In the “Duration” field, change the display time for the animated GIF seconds. By default, Movie Maker displays animated GIFs as clips in a movie for five seconds. Change the time value in “Duration” time, in seconds, to match the length of all animation movements in the image. If you are unsure of the duration of the animated GIF, open the image in a picture viewer and time the length of time needed to review all movements you want to appear in the movie. You can adjust the “Duration” as many times as needed until you find the correct value.

4. Use the “Add Videos and photos” button to insert additional clips or images as needed. Click the “Add music” button to add audio or a music file that plays with the video.
