Edit a Canon 5D Video
The Canon EOS 5D is a digital sngle lens reflex (DSLR) camera that can capture high definition stills and movie clips. It saves movie clips in-camera using a Compact Flash (CF) memory card. Canon bundles a simple free software package with the camera. Canon’s supplied software applications are named ZoomBrowser for Windows and ImageBrowser for Mac. These applications can play movie clips, and also perform rudimentary movie editing. More advanced editing of EOS 5D movie clips is possible with commercial software, such as Apple’s iMovie and Final Cut, Adobe’s Premiere or Sony’s Vegas Video.
1. Connect the camera to your computer using the USB cable.
2. Launch the Canon software. It is included with the camera or available for download from the Canon website. Look for ZoomBrowser for Windows or ImageBrowser for Mac.
3. Click “View & Modify” in the main window of the Canon software, followed by “Edit Movie.”
4. Select a move file to edit in the Browser Area and click “Next.” That will open the movie editor, and allow you to start editing.
