Convert Vob Media Files To Mpg

VOB files are commonly found on DVDs.

VOB is short for “video object” and commonly refers to files found on DVDs. Converting VOB files to MPG allows you to easily play the video files directly on your computer or import them into your favorite video editing software. A few different programs will help you convert the files.

Instructions

Using Vob2Mpg

1. Download and install Vob2Mpg (see Resources) if you are converting files directly from a DVD.

2. Run Vob2Mpg. Click “Browse for DVD source,” and find your DVD. Go to the folder called “VIDEO_TS” and select the IFO file there.

3. In the “Output Folder” field, choose a folder on your hard drive to save the MPG file to.

4. Click the “Start Extraction” button. The process might take a few minutes to complete.

5. Once the process has finished, you can either play the MPG file in your favorite media player or import it into your video editing software.

Using Cool VOB to MPEG Converter

6. Download and install Cool VOB to MPEG Converter (see Resources) if you already have the VOB file on your hard drive.

7. Run the program. Click the “+” button on the right, and browse for your VOB file.

8. In the bottom field, choose the folder you’d like to save the converted MPG file to.

9. Choose your quality setting in the dropdown menu. Typically, you can leave it at “Same Quality.”

10. Click “Convert” and wait for the process to finish.
