Convert Avi To Mpeg2 Using Nero

Convert AVI to MPEG-2 Using Nero

AVI and MPEG-2 are two very different types of computer video files. While AVI video files are meant to be played from a computer, MPEG-2 files are meant to be played on a DVD player and is the standard format of that medium. If you want to convert an AVI to MPEG-2 in Nero Vision (sub-program of Nero Burning ROM), you’ll need to do so during the process of burning that particular video file to a DVD.

1. Open Nero Vision via its “Start” menu shortcut icon.

2. Click “Make a Movie” and then “DVD Video” from Nero Vision’s main menu.

3. Click “Import File” and select the AVI you’d like to convert. After a few seconds (the total type will vary heavily depending on the size of the file), it will be imported into the Nero Vision files list. Click “Next.”

4. Decide whether or not you’d like to create a menu for your DVD. If you would like to, use the window on screen to do just that. If you don’t want to, select “Do Not Create a Menu” and then click “Next.” Click “Next” again to view the final “Summary” page for the conversion/burning process.

5. Make sure there is a blank DVD in your computer’s DVD burner and click “Burn” in Nero Vision. Nero Vision will convert your AVI video file to the MPEG-2 file format, at which point it will then burn that converted file to a DVD that will work in any regular DVD player.
