Convert Avi To Dv Format

Video Editing

Audio Video Interleave (AVI) is a commonly used format for video and audio files. Microsoft created the format in response to the .mov format developed by Apple’s QuickTime technology. The newer Digital Video (DV) format is used by many of the digital camcorders on the market. Microsoft converts files from a DV camcorder to the AVI format when working with in Microsoft-developed programs, but there are other reasons you would want to convert an AVI file to the DV format, especially if you want to use QuickTime to play AVI files.

1. Open up your video editing software, such as Microsoft Movie Maker on your Windows computer or Apple iMovie on your Mac.

2. Import the AVI file into the video editing software. This step may vary between applications, but usually you can clicking on “File” and then “Import.”

3. Export the file to the DV format. Click on “File” and then “Export” in most video editing programs. Choose “DV” or “Digital Video” as the export format. Choose the location where you want to save your new “DV” file and click “Export.”
