Adobe Premiere Pro Will Not Install With Windows Vista

Computer video editing has come a long lway with Premiere Pro CS5.5 software.

Premiere Pro CS5.5 is the latest and most advanced video editing software from Adobe. It boasts a Mercury playback engine on desktops and laptops, delivering professional performance with GPU accelerated effects that allow precision control of frame rate, aspect ratio, flicker removal, speed change effects, blur effects, alpha channels and transitions. Adobe Premiere Pro CS5.5 is a 64-bit product that supports a large variety of hardware, and provides native support for a wide range of professional cameras, including most JVC, Canon and Nikon EX, XF, HD brands.

64-Bit vs. 32-Bit

Adobe Premiere Pro CS5.5 will only install on 64-bit operating systems. The 64-bit version of Windows Vista handles unlimited random access memory, while the 32-bit system can only handle 4GB of RAM. Premiere Pro CS5.5 requires a lot of memory to handle the significant amount of data and wide variety of video editing tasks efficiently. If your Adobe Premiere Pro CS5.5 software won’t install with Windows Vista, chances are you are running the 32-Bit version instead of the required 64-bit version.

Windows Vista 32-Bit

You must purchase a 64-bit version of Windows Vista or Windows 7 if you want to run the Adobe Premiere Pro CS5.5 software. For those who are unable to upgrade to a 64-bit system, Microsoft has included a free version of Adobe Premiere Pro CS4 and After Effects CS4 along with the purchase of CS5.5 Production Premium. However, you will not be able to use the newer features of the CS5.5 version of the software until you upgrade to 64-bit.
